Ron Nehring was elected chairman of the California Republican Party in February 2007. Since his days as President of his College Republican club almost twenty years ago, Ron Nehring has worked hard to advance Republican ideas and candidates. He managed campaigns for Republican candidates in his home state of New York before moving to Washington DC and working for some of the brightest minds in the Republican Party.
He spoke to the Solano Republican Women Federated and their guests about events that need to take place, attitude that need to be changed, and work that needs to be done in order to restore conservatives to political office and influence political decision making in California and in the County. |

Deborah Wilder, Vice Chair of the San Mateo County Republican Party. Served 8 years on the Foster City Council and 2 years as Mayor. She has been chairman of the San Mateo County JPA Library Board and Chair of the San Mateo Cities and County Association of Government (CCAG). She was an alternate delegate of the Republican National Convention in 2004 and 2008 and is a delegate to the California Republican Party.
Deborah spoke to us about getting involved at the local level and electing fiscal conservatives to local councils and boards. Once a fiscal conservative makes a "name for him/herself" as being a responsible offical, it's easier to get him/her elected to another public office. Such can be the way to gradually elect conservatives to bigger and more responsible offices. |

May - Advocacy Conference |
|
2009 Meetings
|
|
The Advocacy Conference is a two-day event sponsored by the California Federation of Republican Women. During this workshop, participants learn about current legislation, tour the Capitol, and are briefed by a number of State Representatives and Senators.
On the second day of the conference, students are encouraged to participate in a workshop in which they learn how an idea becomes a law. Representatives walk them through the process so that they can see step by steo what processes take place. This year four student representatives of the Solano Republican Women Federated attended the conference. They are pictured above with California State Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner. |
